DSMC were contracted by VBMS to remove the blanking plate and prepare the spare bell mouth ready to receive a new export cable on the Ormonde Offshore Windfarm.

The MV Yorkshire Lady was mobilised with our containerised Dive Control and Deck Decompression Chamber.

It was discovered that the locking mechanism within the bellmouth would need to be replaced to allow the cable protection system (CPS) to engage during the cable installation.

A retro fit bell mouth had to be designed and engineered with DSMC consultants assisting the design engineers and fabricators.

​

Once ready our skilled dive team fitted the bell mouth by drilling and bolting to the existing arrangement.

The new design was successful and the new export cable was installed shortly afterwards.
